Through the 2022 FMM Program, Semen Gresik Disburses IDR1.75 Billion to Strengthen Village Economy
Rembang, January 31, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG), through the 2022 Civil Society Forum (FMM) program, disbursed IDR1.75 billion as financial assistance to six villages around the PTSG Rembang factory. The distribution of the financial assistance was conducted during a joint discussion in Batu City, Malang, East Java, on Monday-Thursday (1/24-27).
The financial assistance was allocated for six villages in Rembang and Blora Regencies, including Kajar, Timbrangan, Kadiwono, Pasucen, Tegaldowo, and Ngampel. The handover of the financial assistance was witnessed by the representatives of the Community and Village Empowerment Office (Dinpermades), the Inspectors of Rembang and Blora District Inspectorates, sub-district officials, village representatives, religious leaders, and community leaders.
The Head of the Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility Unit (CSR) of Semen Gresik, Dharma Sunyata, asserted that the financial assistance represented the company's commitment to providing the best contribution to the community in the ring 1 area of the company. It also supported the Government's program in accelerating the National Economic Recovery.
''The FMM program is held every year, and 2022 is the fifth year. This financial assistance is expected to strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life of rural communities living near the company,'' said Sunyata in a press release on Monday (1/31).
Sunyata continued, among the beneficiaries of the financial assistance, Tegaldowo village received a more significant amount since, based on its geographical condition, it is twice as large as the other five villages in the ring 1 area.
He added, PTSG has determined that the financial assistance distributed to the villages through the FMM program should be allocated for three sectors, i.e., 70% for infrastructure development, 20% for community empowerment, and 10% for socio-cultural development.
Among the beneficiaries of the financial assistance, Sunyata continued, Tegaldowo village received a more significant amount since, based on its geographical condition, it is twice as large as the other five villages in the ring 1 area.
''All parties agree that the 2022 FMM financial assistance must be allocated for three priority objectives, namely increasing the independence of local communities, creating jobs, and reducing poverty in villages,'' he said.
He admitted that, referring to the results of the joint discussion, the 2020 FMM program focused on repairing roads to increase the mobilization of local communities in various fields. Besides, this program also focused on community empowerment by establishing the Farmer Women Group (Wanita Kelompok Tani), particularly by supporting the House Yard Utilization and Local Food Development (P4L) program to fulfill family nutrition and food security.
Sunyata expected that the presence of PTSG through the FMM program can significantly improve the welfare of local communities, which is indicated by economic improvement, healthy socio-economic status, and village sovereignty.
One of the beneficiaries, the Head of Kadiwono Village, Ahmad Ridwan, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Semen Gresik for its concern and intense collaboration with the village. He stated that he would utilize the funds in the best way possible to boost the economy and independence of his village.
